Email tracking
Email tracking without a browser extension
You do not need a Chrome extension to know whether your email was engaged. The tracking lives in the message, so it works from any inbox. Clicks are reliable; opens are an estimate.

Can I track email without an extension?
Yes. Email tracking needs only two things in the message: an invisible image for opens and wrapped links for clicks. Neither requires a browser extension, so you can measure mail from any inbox. Clicks are recorded reliably; opens are an estimate, because some apps load the image automatically.
Why it matters
Nothing to install
No extension, plugin or add-in sits in your browser. The pixel and wrapped links live in the message you send, so there is nothing to break on an update.
Works from any inbox or device
Because the tracking is in the message and not the browser, it works whether you send from Gmail, Outlook or webmail, on a laptop or a phone.
Clicks reliable, opens an estimate
A wrapped link records a deliberate tap, so clicks are trustworthy. An open depends on the mail app loading an image, so it is reported as an estimate, with automatic fetches kept separate.
Set it up
Three steps, no developer
01
Create a campaign and add recipients
Paste addresses, stored only as a hash, each getting a token woven into the pixel and links.
02
Copy the two snippets
An invisible open pixel for the HTML body and a wrapped link for your call to action, both with a per-recipient merge field.
03
Send and read the results
Send from whatever inbox you use, then read click rate as the reliable number and opens as an estimate.
Watch it end to end: recipients, snippets, per-person results
FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Why avoid a tracking extension?+
Extensions only work in the browser they are installed in, can break on updates, and often send your mail through a third party. Message-level tracking works from any inbox and does not sit between you and your email.
Does it work on mobile and webmail?+
Yes. Since the pixel and links are inside the message, tracking works the same on phone mail apps and webmail, where a desktop extension could not run at all.
Is open tracking accurate without an extension?+
An extension would not make opens exact either. Open tracking is always an estimate because image loading varies by mail app, while clicks stay reliable because they need a deliberate tap.
