Conversion tracking
WhatsApp Link Conversion Tracking
WhatsApp link conversion tracking shows you which message — a broadcast blast, a Status update, your product catalogue, or a one-to-one chat — actually turned into a paid order. Stop guessing which WhatsApp push worked and start attributing every rupee back to the link that earned it.
How do you track conversions from links shared on WhatsApp?
Wrap your landing-page URL in a directinapp link, share it on WhatsApp, then drop our pixel on your thank-you page. When a buyer checks out, the pixel ties that sale back to the exact WhatsApp campaign — broadcast, Status or catalogue — so you see revenue per link, not just clicks.
Why it matters
Know which WhatsApp message paid off
A broadcast to your regulars, a Status link, a catalogue item, a reply in a one-to-one chat — give each its own directinapp link and see exactly which one drove the order. No more crediting every sale to a vague WhatsApp bucket.
No code to add inside WhatsApp
You never touch WhatsApp settings or the Business API. Share a normal short link in the chat, and put one lightweight pixel on the thank-you page your buyers land on after paying. That single tag captures the conversion.
Revenue in rupees, per link
Every WhatsApp link reports clicks, geo and device for free, and on the Business tier the order value too. See that your Diwali broadcast earned Rs 42,000 while your Status link earned Rs 3,000, and shift effort accordingly.
Set it up
Three steps, no developer
Create a directinapp link per WhatsApp campaign
Make one short link for the broadcast, one for Status, one for the catalogue item. Each carries its own dia_clid, so clicks stay separated even though they all point to the same product page.
Paste the link into a broadcast list, a Status post, your catalogue description, or a direct chat. Buyers tap it, land on your site, and our first-party cookie (dia_vid) remembers that browser through checkout.
Fire the pixel on your thank-you page
Add the GET /c pixel to the order-confirmation page, or let a signed Razorpay webhook auto-capture the payment. The sale is matched to the WhatsApp link that started it and shows up in your dashboard.

Frequently asked questions
What is WhatsApp link conversion tracking?+
It is attributing a sale or signup back to the specific link you shared on WhatsApp. You use a directinapp short link per campaign and a thank-you-page pixel, so a paid order is tied to the broadcast, Status or catalogue message that produced it — not just counted as a click.
Can I tell which broadcast list drove the sales?+
Yes, if you give each broadcast its own directinapp link. Send list A one short link and list B another, both pointing to the same product. The conversion report then shows which list actually converted and at what order value.
Does it work with WhatsApp Status and catalogue links?+
Yes. Any place WhatsApp lets you paste a link — Status, a catalogue item description, or a one-to-one chat — works the same way. Use a distinct link per placement so Status sales and catalogue sales stay separate in your dashboard.
Do I need the WhatsApp Business API to use this?+
No. There is nothing to install inside WhatsApp and no API to approve. You share an ordinary directinapp link in any WhatsApp chat and place the pixel on your own website's thank-you page. It works even for a solo seller sending links by hand.
Can it match the same buyer across their phone and laptop?+
No. Attribution is cookie-scoped to the browser that opened your WhatsApp link, so it won't follow the same buyer across devices — if they tap on their phone but pay on a laptop, cross-device matching is on our roadmap, not live. On a single device the click-to-sale match is exact.
How do payments from Razorpay get captured?+
Two ways: the no-code pixel on your thank-you page, or a signed Razorpay webhook that auto-captures the paid order for you. The webhook is signature-verified and never touches your keys or checkout, since we are webhook-based rather than a gateway app.

Conversion tracking
Conversion tracking is measuring the real outcomes a link drives — a sale, a signup, a lead — not just the clicks. You tell your analytics tool "this counts as a conversion, worth this much," and it ties that outcome back to the link that earned it. directinapp does this on every link: fire a pixel, a postback or our drop-in dia.js script when a sale happens, and see the count, the rupee value and the conversion rate for that exact link — right down to which click and visitor drove it.
Instagram sales tracking
Yes — you can track sales and signups from an Instagram bio link or reel. Put your store or checkout behind a directinapp link, fire our pixel on your payment success page, and the Business report shows the count, rupee value and conversion rate that link drove. Even though a bio or reel is one shared link, per-visitor and per-click attribution shows which visitor and which click drove each sale — the visitor id is cookie-scoped to this browser, not the same person across devices.
vs Linktree
Linktree tells you a link got clicked. directinapp tells you it drove 12 purchases worth Rs 5,988. On any link you can fire our tracking pixel or server postback with a sale value, and the Business tier shows conversion count, total value and conversion rate per link, per currency (INR/USD/EUR/GBP/AED). Attribution now runs per-click and per-visitor (dia_clid and dia_vid), and signed webhook auto-capture for Razorpay, Stripe, Shopify and WooCommerce records a paid order automatically.
Tracking pixel
A tracking pixel for links is a tiny 1×1 image you load when a sale happens. Point an img tag at GET /c?s=SLUG&e=purchase&v=499&cur=INR and directinapp records one conversion — with its rupee value — against the link that drove it. No SDK, no cookie, no code beyond one line of HTML.
Server postbacks
A server postback records a conversion by sending a POST /conversions call from your backend to directinapp. You send JSON with the link's slug, an event name, value and currency, and the dashboard shows counts, total value and conversion rate per link. It is shipped and works today. Signed, HMAC-verified postbacks are on the roadmap.
Lead tracking
Yes — you can track leads and signups from any directinapp link today. Fire a "lead" or "signup" event from your form's thank-you page with our pixel or postback, and each link shows its lead count, conversion rate, and a per-event breakdown. Attribution ties each lead to the click and the visitor — a cookie-scoped id for this browser — that drove it; recognising the same person across devices is still on the roadmap.
