Conversion tracking

Conversion tracking without Google Analytics

Conversion tracking without Google Analytics means you see which link drove each Razorpay payment or sign-up, with no GA4 property, no gtag.js, and no Google cookie-consent banner to wire up.

Can I track conversions without Google Analytics?

Yes. directinapp records a conversion against the exact short link a visitor clicked using a pixel, a server postback, or the dia.js snippet. There's no GA4 property, no gtag.js and no Google cookie banner to set up first.

Why it matters

01

No GA4 property, no gtag.js

Skip creating a Google Analytics 4 property, pasting a gtag snippet on every page and defining events in the GA interface. You add one directinapp link, then a pixel or postback fires when the sale happens. That's the whole setup.

02

One less Google cookie to disclose

GA drops its own analytics cookies, which means another line in your consent banner and privacy policy. directinapp attributes with a first-party click id and a cookie-scoped visitor id on your own domain, so you're not handing browsing data to Google to count a rupee sale.

03

Conversions tied to the actual link

GA4 reports sessions and channels; you still have to guess which Instagram bio link or WhatsApp broadcast earned the order. directinapp logs the conversion against the specific dia_clid that was clicked, so revenue maps back to one link, one campaign, in rupees.

Set it up

Three steps, no developer

01

Shorten the link you're sharing

Create a directinapp link for the destination you post in your Instagram bio, WhatsApp broadcast or ad. Every click gets a first-party dia_clid, plus free geo, device and click analytics. No Google account required at any point.

02

Fire a conversion, no gtag needed

Drop the 1x1 pixel on your thank-you page, POST to /conversions from your server, or add the dia.js snippet. Razorpay, Stripe, Shopify and WooCommerce can also auto-capture via signed webhooks, so paid orders record themselves.

03

Read revenue per link

Open your dashboard and see conversions and rupee value against each link and campaign, matched by click id (dia_clid) and the cookie-scoped visitor id (dia_vid). No GA4 exploration reports to build, no sampling to second-guess.

Frequently asked questions

Is conversion tracking without Google Analytics actually accurate?+

It's accurate for the question sellers care about: which link earned the order. directinapp matches each conversion to the click id (dia_clid) from the link tapped, and webhooks from Razorpay or Stripe confirm real paid orders rather than inferred sessions.

Do I need to remove Google Analytics to use this?+

No. They can run side by side. Many sellers keep GA4 for broad traffic and use directinapp for clean per-link revenue attribution. But if you never want to touch GA4 or gtag.js, you don't have to install it at all.

Will this recognise the same buyer across their phone and laptop?+

No, not across devices. The visitor id (dia_vid) is a first-party cookie scoped to one browser, so cross-device stitching is on the roadmap, not shipped. Per-click attribution via dia_clid works regardless of which device was used.

How is this different from GA4's conversion events?+

GA4 needs a property, gtag.js on every page and event configuration before it counts anything, and it reports at the session level. directinapp needs one link and one pixel or postback, and reports revenue against the exact link clicked in rupees.

Does skipping Google mean fewer cookie-consent headaches?+

Largely yes. You avoid Google's analytics cookies and the disclosures they require. directinapp uses a first-party click id and a browser-scoped visitor cookie on your own domain, which is simpler to explain in a consent notice.

Which conversions can it capture automatically?+

Paid orders through Razorpay, Stripe, Shopify and WooCommerce via signed webhooks, with no gateway app installed and without touching your keys. For sign-ups or leads, use the pixel, the /conversions postback, or the dia.js snippet.

Conversion tracking

Conversion tracking is measuring the real outcomes a link drives — a sale, a signup, a lead — not just the clicks. You tell your analytics tool "this counts as a conversion, worth this much," and it ties that outcome back to the link that earned it. directinapp does this on every link: fire a pixel, a postback or our drop-in dia.js script when a sale happens, and see the count, the rupee value and the conversion rate for that exact link — right down to which click and visitor drove it.

Instagram sales tracking

Yes — you can track sales and signups from an Instagram bio link or reel. Put your store or checkout behind a directinapp link, fire our pixel on your payment success page, and the Business report shows the count, rupee value and conversion rate that link drove. Even though a bio or reel is one shared link, per-visitor and per-click attribution shows which visitor and which click drove each sale — the visitor id is cookie-scoped to this browser, not the same person across devices.

vs Linktree

Linktree tells you a link got clicked. directinapp tells you it drove 12 purchases worth Rs 5,988. On any link you can fire our tracking pixel or server postback with a sale value, and the Business tier shows conversion count, total value and conversion rate per link, per currency (INR/USD/EUR/GBP/AED). Attribution now runs per-click and per-visitor (dia_clid and dia_vid), and signed webhook auto-capture for Razorpay, Stripe, Shopify and WooCommerce records a paid order automatically.

Tracking pixel

A tracking pixel for links is a tiny 1×1 image you load when a sale happens. Point an img tag at GET /c?s=SLUG&e=purchase&v=499&cur=INR and directinapp records one conversion — with its rupee value — against the link that drove it. No SDK, no cookie, no code beyond one line of HTML.

Server postbacks

A server postback records a conversion by sending a POST /conversions call from your backend to directinapp. You send JSON with the link's slug, an event name, value and currency, and the dashboard shows counts, total value and conversion rate per link. It is shipped and works today. Signed, HMAC-verified postbacks are on the roadmap.

Lead tracking

Yes — you can track leads and signups from any directinapp link today. Fire a "lead" or "signup" event from your form's thank-you page with our pixel or postback, and each link shows its lead count, conversion rate, and a per-event breakdown. Attribution ties each lead to the click and the visitor — a cookie-scoped id for this browser — that drove it; recognising the same person across devices is still on the roadmap.
