Conversion tracking
Conversion tracking for digital products, built for instant delivery
Conversion tracking for digital products means knowing which link sold your course, ebook, Notion template, or Lightroom preset pack. No shipping, no COD, no waiting — the sale finishes on a thank-you or download page, and that is exactly where directinapp ties the rupee back to the post.
How do I set up conversion tracking for digital products when there's no shipping to confirm the sale?
With instant-download products the sale ends on a thank-you page, so put a directinapp pixel there. The moment a buyer lands after paying via Razorpay, the pixel fires and ties that download back to the exact link, reel, or post that sent them.
Why it matters
The sale ends on a page — so track it there
Digital products have no courier scan to mark a sale done. Delivery is a thank-you or download page. Drop directinapp's no-code pixel on that page and every completed purchase gets counted the instant it loads, whether you sell through Razorpay, Instamojo, or a Topmate-style link.
Know which reel actually sold, not just which got views
You post three reels for the same ₹499 preset pack. Views tell you reach; they don't tell you revenue. Per-click attribution (dia_clid) maps each download back to the exact link in that reel or bio, so you scale the post that pays and drop the one that only entertains.
Free analytics on every link, tracking on the Business tier
Every directinapp short link ships with click, geo, and device stats, a QR code, deep-links, and a link-in-bio page at no cost. Conversion tracking — the pixel, the postback, the dia.js SDK, and signed Razorpay/Stripe webhooks — sits on the Business tier with a free trial, so you test it before you pay.
Set it up
Three steps, no developer
Make a tracked link for each place you sell
Shorten your checkout or landing URL once per channel — Instagram bio, a reel's link, a WhatsApp broadcast, your newsletter. Each gets its own dia_clid so directinapp can tell a bio download apart from a broadcast download.
Paste the pixel on your thank-you page
After a buyer pays, they hit your download or thank-you page. Add the one-line directinapp pixel (a GET to /c) there, or drop in the dia.js SDK. No keys, no checkout changes — it just fires when the page loads.
Read revenue by post, not by guess
Open your dashboard and see completed downloads mapped to the link that drove them. For gateways, connect a signed Razorpay or Stripe webhook so paid orders auto-capture even if the buyer closes the tab before the page finishes loading.

Frequently asked questions
How does conversion tracking for digital products work without a shipping event?+
Physical products confirm a sale with a delivery scan; digital ones confirm it with a page. When a buyer lands on your thank-you or download page after paying, directinapp's pixel fires and records the sale, tying it to the link that brought them.
I sell courses and presets through Razorpay — do I need to touch my checkout code?+
No. The pixel lives on your own thank-you page, not inside Razorpay. If you'd rather not rely on the buyer reaching that page, connect a signed Razorpay webhook and paid orders auto-capture on their own. directinapp never sees your gateway keys.
Can it tell which Instagram reel or bio link actually sold the download?+
Yes. Give each reel, story, and bio link its own tracked short link. Per-click attribution (dia_clid) maps each completed download back to that exact link, so you know the ₹499 preset sales came from Tuesday's reel, not Friday's.
Does it recognise the same buyer if they browse on their phone and buy on their laptop?+
Not across devices — the visitor id (dia_vid) is a first-party cookie, so it's scoped to one browser. Recognising the same person across devices is on the roadmap. Per-click attribution still works everywhere via the link itself.
Is there a native app for my store, or does it plug into my keys?+
There's no native store app that touches your checkout — the integration is webhook-based and never handles your gateway keys. You add a pixel to your page or connect a signed webhook for Razorpay, Stripe, Shopify, or WooCommerce.
What's free and what needs the Business tier?+
Every link's click, geo, and device analytics, plus QR codes, deep-links, and a link-in-bio page, are free. Conversion tracking — pixel, server postback, dia.js SDK, and signed webhooks — is on the Business tier, which has a free trial so you can test on a live launch first.

Conversion tracking
Conversion tracking is measuring the real outcomes a link drives — a sale, a signup, a lead — not just the clicks. You tell your analytics tool "this counts as a conversion, worth this much," and it ties that outcome back to the link that earned it. directinapp does this on every link: fire a pixel, a postback or our drop-in dia.js script when a sale happens, and see the count, the rupee value and the conversion rate for that exact link — right down to which click and visitor drove it.
Instagram sales tracking
Yes — you can track sales and signups from an Instagram bio link or reel. Put your store or checkout behind a directinapp link, fire our pixel on your payment success page, and the Business report shows the count, rupee value and conversion rate that link drove. Even though a bio or reel is one shared link, per-visitor and per-click attribution shows which visitor and which click drove each sale — the visitor id is cookie-scoped to this browser, not the same person across devices.
vs Linktree
Linktree tells you a link got clicked. directinapp tells you it drove 12 purchases worth Rs 5,988. On any link you can fire our tracking pixel or server postback with a sale value, and the Business tier shows conversion count, total value and conversion rate per link, per currency (INR/USD/EUR/GBP/AED). Attribution now runs per-click and per-visitor (dia_clid and dia_vid), and signed webhook auto-capture for Razorpay, Stripe, Shopify and WooCommerce records a paid order automatically.
Tracking pixel
A tracking pixel for links is a tiny 1×1 image you load when a sale happens. Point an img tag at GET /c?s=SLUG&e=purchase&v=499&cur=INR and directinapp records one conversion — with its rupee value — against the link that drove it. No SDK, no cookie, no code beyond one line of HTML.
Server postbacks
A server postback records a conversion by sending a POST /conversions call from your backend to directinapp. You send JSON with the link's slug, an event name, value and currency, and the dashboard shows counts, total value and conversion rate per link. It is shipped and works today. Signed, HMAC-verified postbacks are on the roadmap.
Lead tracking
Yes — you can track leads and signups from any directinapp link today. Fire a "lead" or "signup" event from your form's thank-you page with our pixel or postback, and each link shows its lead count, conversion rate, and a per-event breakdown. Attribution ties each lead to the click and the visitor — a cookie-scoped id for this browser — that drove it; recognising the same person across devices is still on the roadmap.
