Conversion tracking
Affiliate link tracking that ties each sale to the exact placement
Affiliate link tracking with directinapp shows which link, post or newsletter drove the sale and what it was worth. One trackable link per placement, per-click and per-visitor, so your own numbers stop disagreeing with the merchant's dashboard.
How does affiliate link tracking work when you don't own the merchant's checkout?
Give each placement its own directinapp link so every click carries a dia_clid. When the buyer hits the merchant's thank-you page, a pixel or server postback fires that id back, tying the sale and its rupee value to the exact link that drove it.
Why it matters
One link per placement, not one link everywhere
Reusing a single affiliate link across your reel, story, YouTube description and newsletter tells you nothing. Make a separate directinapp link for each spot and you can see the WhatsApp broadcast outsold the Instagram bio 3:1 before you renegotiate your rate.
Attribution that survives the merchant hand-off
Every click carries a dia_clid, and a first-party dia_vid ties repeat visits from the same browser together (cookie-scoped to one device, not across devices). When the sale fires from the thank-you page, you learn the link, the value in rupees and whether it was first-touch or a return visit.
Free analytics on top of every affiliate link
Each link ships with click, geo and device analytics, a QR code for offline placements and a link-in-bio page, at no extra cost. You see reach and clicks even before a single conversion posts back, so a dead placement is obvious in a day, not a month.
Set it up
Three steps, no developer
Make a link per placement
Create a directinapp short link for each spot you promote from: reel, bio, story, email, Telegram. Point it at your affiliate destination. Each one stamps a dia_clid on the click and a dia_vid cookie on the visitor's browser.
Fire the conversion from the thank-you page
If the merchant lets you drop a script, add the dia.js pixel (a GET /c) to their thank-you page. If you own the offer, use the server postback (POST /conversions, currently unsigned) or a signed webhook from Razorpay, Stripe, Shopify or WooCommerce.
Read which placement actually paid
Conversions land against the original link with their rupee value. Sort placements by revenue, not vanity clicks, and pour effort into the two that convert instead of the ten that don't.

Frequently asked questions
What is affiliate link tracking and how is it different from the merchant's own dashboard?+
It is attributing each sale back to the specific link and placement you shared. The merchant's dashboard shows totals; a per-placement directinapp link plus a pixel or postback on the thank-you page shows which of your posts, emails or reels earned the commission.
Can you track affiliate sales if you don't control the merchant's site?+
Partly. If the merchant lets you add the dia.js pixel to their thank-you page, conversions post back automatically. If they don't, you still get full click, geo and device analytics per link, and you can reconcile totals against their affiliate report by placement.
Does this recognise the same buyer across their phone and laptop?+
No. The dia_vid visitor id is a first-party cookie scoped to one browser, so cross-device stitching isn't supported today; it's on the roadmap. Per-click attribution via dia_clid still works whenever the click and the conversion share the same session.
Is there a native affiliate-network or gateway app I plug in?+
No native one-click app. Auto-capture is webhook-based for Razorpay, Stripe, Shopify and WooCommerce and never touches your keys or checkout. For third-party merchant pages you use the pixel or the server postback instead.
How much does affiliate link tracking cost?+
Conversion tracking sits in the Business tier, which starts with a free trial. Basic link shortening, QR codes, deep-links, link-in-bio and click analytics are available on the free plan, so you can test the links before you switch tracking on.
Is the server postback secure?+
The plain POST /conversions postback is currently unsigned, so treat it as a trusted-server call rather than a public endpoint. The auto-capture webhooks from Razorpay, Stripe, Shopify and WooCommerce are signature-verified.

Conversion tracking
Conversion tracking is measuring the real outcomes a link drives — a sale, a signup, a lead — not just the clicks. You tell your analytics tool "this counts as a conversion, worth this much," and it ties that outcome back to the link that earned it. directinapp does this on every link: fire a pixel, a postback or our drop-in dia.js script when a sale happens, and see the count, the rupee value and the conversion rate for that exact link — right down to which click and visitor drove it.
Instagram sales tracking
Yes — you can track sales and signups from an Instagram bio link or reel. Put your store or checkout behind a directinapp link, fire our pixel on your payment success page, and the Business report shows the count, rupee value and conversion rate that link drove. Even though a bio or reel is one shared link, per-visitor and per-click attribution shows which visitor and which click drove each sale — the visitor id is cookie-scoped to this browser, not the same person across devices.
vs Linktree
Linktree tells you a link got clicked. directinapp tells you it drove 12 purchases worth Rs 5,988. On any link you can fire our tracking pixel or server postback with a sale value, and the Business tier shows conversion count, total value and conversion rate per link, per currency (INR/USD/EUR/GBP/AED). Attribution now runs per-click and per-visitor (dia_clid and dia_vid), and signed webhook auto-capture for Razorpay, Stripe, Shopify and WooCommerce records a paid order automatically.
Tracking pixel
A tracking pixel for links is a tiny 1×1 image you load when a sale happens. Point an img tag at GET /c?s=SLUG&e=purchase&v=499&cur=INR and directinapp records one conversion — with its rupee value — against the link that drove it. No SDK, no cookie, no code beyond one line of HTML.
Server postbacks
A server postback records a conversion by sending a POST /conversions call from your backend to directinapp. You send JSON with the link's slug, an event name, value and currency, and the dashboard shows counts, total value and conversion rate per link. It is shipped and works today. Signed, HMAC-verified postbacks are on the roadmap.
Lead tracking
Yes — you can track leads and signups from any directinapp link today. Fire a "lead" or "signup" event from your form's thank-you page with our pixel or postback, and each link shows its lead count, conversion rate, and a per-event breakdown. Attribution ties each lead to the click and the visitor — a cookie-scoped id for this browser — that drove it; recognising the same person across devices is still on the roadmap.
