How to run a festive-season campaign you can actually measure
Diwali and the festive weeks are when a year of sales can happen at once. Here is how to set up links, QR codes and tracking so you know what worked, not just that it was busy.
A measurable festive campaign uses a separate trackable link, and a QR code, for each channel and placement, tied to conversion tracking, so at the end of the season you can see which channel, offer and creative actually drove sales rather than guessing from a busy blur.
For a lot of Indian sellers, the festive season is the year. A huge share of annual sales lands in the few weeks around Diwali, and it arrives as chaos: reels, WhatsApp broadcasts, posters, packaging inserts and creator posts all going out at once. Most sellers finish the season knowing it was busy, but not which part of it actually worked, which means next year starts from a guess.
One link per channel and placement
Before the rush, make a separate short link for each place the offer will appear: one for Instagram, one for the WhatsApp broadcast, one for the newsletter, one per creator. They all point at the same sale page, but each keeps its own count in link analytics, so the channels stay separate instead of merging into one number. This is the same one-link-per-channel idea from tracking a campaign across platforms, applied to your busiest weeks.
QR codes for the offline side
Festive selling is physical too: packaging, in-store posters, flyers in the delivery bag. Put a trackable QR code, built on a short link, on each of those, and the scans land next to your online clicks. Because the QR points at a link you control, you can even change where it leads mid-season without reprinting. Build them in the QR code generator.
Tie it to sales, not just taps
Taps tell you which channel drew attention; the season is about revenue. Connect each tap to the order it produced with conversion tracking, and every channel, poster and creator gets a rupee figure beside it instead of a click count.
Set it up before the rush, read it after
The work is front-loaded on purpose: name your links by channel and offer, get the QR codes printed early, and switch tracking on before the first sale. Then, when the season ends, you have a scoreboard, not a blur, and next year’s plan writes itself from what actually earned rather than what merely felt busy.
